Dr. Puja Chakraborty is working as an Assistant Professor in the ‘School of Fisheries Science’, TIUT. She has completed her graduation (B.F.Sc) from College of Fisheries, Agartala, under Central Agricultural University, Imphal. After completing her B.F.Sc., she took up master’s degree in aquaculture division at ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai. She secured overall first rank (UR category) in ICAR's All India Competitive Examination for Admission in Doctoral degree programmes. She then successfully completed her PhD in Aquaculture from ICAR-CIFE. During her research work, as a co-inventor, she has filed a patent titled ‘Novel processes for the development of microencapsulated chemical and microbiological products for input use efficiency’. Furthermore, she was awarded with ‘Best Research Scholar- 2019 award’ by Agricultural & Environmental Technology Development Society’ (AETDS), India. Moreover, she qualified for ICAR- National Eligibility Test (NET) in the year 2021 with flying colours. Her research interest lies in fish nutrition, environmental remediation and nanotechnological interventions in aquaculture. She has already published 13 peer-reviewed research/review papers, 4 book chapters, and 13 articles. She has attended various training programmes/Conferences/ seminars during her academic career and has one year of teaching experience. Dr. Chakraborty is dedicated to fostering scientific temperament in the field of aquaculture and is committed to uplifting students and helping them excel.
